Home at Last

Psalm 91…
…spoke my heart in the wee hours, in our new forever home:)

🤲Thank You Abba. My heart has Your peace. Only You are my refuge, my place of safety.
Unending months and weeks of cleaning out our storage unit and my late sister’s home…sorting, tossing, packing, donating, cleaning, fixing…and You rewarded us with this beautiful home where we can finally nest. 🥵

While  I was standing at my kitchen counter at 2:00 a.m., I noticed my heart was finally quiet. More than half of the counter was cleared and I mostly had a kitchen/living room again.
One of our Bibles was there, in its new spot, and I was compelled to pick it up and read Psalm 91.
It is most powerful, and it made me weep…tears of gratitude and joy, not frustration or sadness. Even now, typing these words, my heart swells.
Several of Ps 91’s verses have had a home on my various fridges over the past eighteen months of our tumultuous existence. Random sticky notes scribbled during my time with my Abba, my only refuge and place of safety.
Then I went on, to Psalm 92 because this anonymous psalmist is just so good with his praise and worship. He speaks my heart so well 💯

Verse 4: “You thrill me, LORD, with all You have done for me! I sing for joy because of what You have done.”
I DOOO! 💥

Verse 10: “But You have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil.”  (Who could this be but David?🤔)
A wild ox…sums it up pretty good for my demeanor and behavior at times. 🫣 If I was a girly-girl I wouldn’t have survived my life’s poor choices, the lion’s den a few times, or the storms. So thank You Abba, for making me strong as a wild ox!

Verse 14 made me giddy😁. If you’ve wasted too much time being a bonehead, and you think it’s too late to make an impact, you will appreciate this one:
“Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.”
  >> ” they” meaning those who follow Jesus.

Aren’t we so blessed to serve the God of a million second chances?! 🥹
I marvel at how He has been so patient with this prodigal daughter, never stopping His pursuit of my stubborn, prideful ox heart.

My reason for sharing…

Rather than hang your head in defeat, look up!☝️
Look for the lessons in your storms. There are so many!
And if you find that the same scenario occurs over and over, take that as a sign you’ve missed the lesson. Until you figure it out, well, history repeats itself for a reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just like the Israelites wandering “aimlessly” in the desert. God only wanted their trust and obedience, and for them to stop whining!

So, how do you figure it out?

You get to know the God that loves you, and wants your love in return. You ask Him to show you what He needs you to know, every day, whether you’re in a storm or not. He wants to be part of every day, not just an emergency contact.

Important to note:  You must mean it when you ask. Don’t be rolling your eyes and digging your heels in.
Those who earnestly seek Him will find Him.

So, how do you get to know Him?

EXPECT AN ANSWER.
QUIET YOUR MIND AND LISTEN, as you read His Word.

If you’re new to a Bible or an app, get one with commentary – a Life Application study Bible is my suggestion – and read the book of John in the New Testament first.

Need help? Ask me 🙂

I pray big Blessings for you and much Peace in Christ on this satiated Saturday in April 2026, and all of your days.
